Creative idea:
This video manifesto is a poetic exploration of human identity and resilience in an Ukraine suffering constant shelling, where daily injuries and loss of limbs and faces, leave permanent scars. Yet, every mark tells a story of survival, not disfigurement. Unique, beautiful people emerge with faces transformed by war; their scars are emblems of strength, not shame. Through evocative cinematography, gentle color grading, and nature projections over faces, the film creates a tender visual dialogue. Iconic Ukrainian poetry of Vasyl Symonenko’s verses, including the stirring lines, "Do you know that you're a human and your eyes, your face is unique and beautiful" underscoring that scars are not defects but powerful symbols of life’s journey. The voices of Serhii Zhadan and Sasha Koltsova add cultural depth. Ultimately, this work calls on society to help these individuals heal and blend in, starting by donating for essential face reconstruction programs to restore both physical features and human dignity.
